Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival at Camp Aquaterra from Delhi.

The tourists would be travelling by train and they are to board the morning Shatabdi Express from Delhi station at 6:55 am. The tourists will reach Haridwar at 11:30 am from where they would depart for Camp Silver Sands in Rishikesh. Aquaterra adventures has three camps : Camp Aquaterra, Camp Silver Sands and Camp Bagitons. The distance between Haridwar and Rishikesh is 25.8 km. The tourists will be staying at Camp Silver Sands, which is situated on the banks of the River Ganges along the sandy shores. The tourists will be briefed at the camp regarding the activities. From there the tourists will be taken for a short run till Shivpuri . Shivpuri is the abode of Lord Shiva and is famous for its temple. Shivpuri has a wide variety of adventure sports like river rafting, rock climbing etc. the tourists will be briefed about the paddling commands, safety techniques, and about negotiating a few rapids. The tourists will return to the camp for snacks and tea/coffee. At night there will be a barbecue dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02 Drive to Kaldubagarh (6hrs drive)

The tourists will leave for KaIdubagarh from Rishikesh in the early hours. It is a famous tourist location situated along the river Alaknanda. On the way the tourists will stop at Devprayag to see the Alaknanda River and Bhagirathi river meet and form the holy river Ganga. On arrival tourists will check into the camp and get personal kit ready. The tourists will stay overnight at Kaldubagarh.

Day 03 Drive to Chamoli

The tourists would have an early start today. They would drive to Chamoli which is an hour drive. Chamoli is the second largest district of Uttarakhand and has a variety of tourist destinations. The tourists will start the river trip after a comprehensive safety check. The tourists would raft 30 kms with nearly 40 rapids and would possibly try to include Hillary Fall. This is the spot where famous “Oceans to sky” expedition undertaken by Edmund Hillary ended, as he was unable to clear this rapid. With lots of paddling and scouting, this would be an incredible river day. The tourists would float into the familiar Kaldubagarh for the night. Overnight camp here.

Day 04 Raft from Kaldubagarh to Gauchar

The tourists would be rafting from Kaldubagarh to Gauchar today. Gauchar, which is a famous hill town is present on the left bank of the river Alaknanda. During the day, the travellers would raft down a series of nearly 20 class 3+ rapids lasting over a duration of 4 hours. The tourists will camp near Gauchar which is located 7 kms upstream from the confluence of the river Alaknanda with the river Pindar at Karnprayag.

Day 05 Raft till Rudraprayag

Today the tourists will raft till Rudraprayag , it is one of the panch prayag of Alaknanda river, the point of confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. It would be a 5-hour raft covering 30 kms of class 3+/4 rapids, including a portage at “Kakar Fall”, which is often the high point of the entire trip. It got its name because the canyon surrounding it is narrow enough for a Kakar(Deer) to leap across. The tourists would then drive back to the valley to arrive at Camp Silver Sands for dinner. Overnight camp here.

Day 06 Leave for Delhi post lunch.

The tourists would have a relaxed morning at Camp Aquaterra and they would enjoy lunch and then would leave for Haridwar from where the tourists would board the evening Shatabdi train home. The tourists would arrive at Delhi by 10:30pm.
