This festival trip to Taj Mahotsav in India starts from an exploration of the capital of India, Delhi, looking into the several gems in both New Delhi and Old Delhi. This will be followed by a trip to Agra, the house of one of the seven wonders of the world- Taj Mahal. Here you will also get to experience a day in the Taj Mahotsav, the famous 10 days long annual festival of Agra. Then you will move towards Sawai Madhopur, where you get to stay in Ranthambore National Park, and get a glimpse of the rich wildlife and dense forests. Arrival in Delhi. Upon reaching, you will be greeted by one of our representatives, who will escort you to your hotel. After checking in, you will have the rest of the day to yourself. You can either relax, or go out on a little exploring adventure of your own.
Delhi is not just known for it being India’s capital, but also for its rich history, from the royal era to the British Raj period. From the Red Fort and the streets of Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi to the Parliament House and India Gate in New Delhi, the capital has a lot to offer in its plate. After breakfast, gear up, as a day full of exploration awaits you. You will start from Old Delhi, making your way through the famous monuments like Jama Masjid and Red Fort. Additionally, you can also explore the various markets including Chandni Chowk. After lunch, you will make your way towards New Delhi. Post breakfast, you will depart for Agra. After the 3-4 hours long drive, you will be checked in at the hotel. After some rest, you can leave for your sightseeing tour. Agra is a small city, but hides some of the most beautiful gems of the country, and even the world. Home to one of the seven wonders of the world- the Taj Mahal, Agra also has monuments including the Agra Fort. Each ear countless people from all over the globe come to witness the white marbled monument, built by emperor Shah Jehan, to house the tomb of this most beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. After breakfast, you will visit Shilpigram, to witness the Taj Mahotsav. You can witness the various exhibitions displayed by artists from all around.
Taj Mahotsav is a ten days long annual event. It commemorates the Mughal Era as well as the Nawabi style that was widespread in the 18th and 19th centuries. More than 400 artists from all over India get to display their works, which include wood and stone carvings, bamboo work, zardozi work, among many others. A trip to Agra is incomplete without witnessing the sunrise from Taj Mahal, when there are barely any tourists, and the atmosphere is extremely serene. After breakfast, you will depart towards Ranthambore National Park, via Fatehpur Sikri to see the famous Buland Darwaza. Upon reaching Ranthambore, you will be checked in at the hotel. You can rest for the rest of the evening, as the next day will be spent in Wildlife exploration.
Ranthambore National Park, located near the Sawai Madhopur town in Rajasthan, is home to a large variety of wildlife, including several tigers. Some of the fauna include nilgai, wild boars, sambars, striped hyenas, apart from the various plant, reptile and bird species. Established in 1955, Ranthambore National Park, today, has a whopping 539 species of flowering plants alone, in its dense forests. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Ranthambore.
After breakfast morning and evening game rides await you. Mornings and evenings are the coolest times, and animals are easy to spot, them being more active in those hours. After breakfast, you will have a last morning game drive. Post some exploration, you will leave for the Pink City of Jaipur. You will have the rest of the afternoon to yourself, and you spend it in leisure. Jaipur is known as the Pink City, due to the signature hue of its old buildings, including the famous monument of Hawa Mahal. Jaipur is known for its royal history, Jaipur has a lot of gems hidden, be it the beautiful Amer Fort, or the charismatic City Palace. After breakfast, be prepared for an insightful tour of the beautiful Pink City. You can take a guided tour, starting from the Hawa Mahal, or the Palace of winds, with its extremely splendid architecture, to the famous observatory of Jantar Mantar, built by Emperor Shah Jehan. Then you can visit the well-known Amer Fort, located about eleven kilometers from the main city. After returning, you can witness the puppet show, which occasionally take place amidst the city. Today, you can explore the numerous markets in the city of Jaipur. Post breakfast, you can leave towards exploring the local bazaars, and mingle with the local sellers. You can also visit Sanganer and witness how the famous textiles are made and how the beautifully block printings are transferred onto the fabrics. You can even meet local traders and artisans during this exploration, to get an inside view of how these arts come to life. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Jaipur.
After breakfast, you will leave for Delhi, over a six hours long drive. You will have the whole day at your leisure, and you can explore the city on your today. From markets to food arenas, the options are endless, so enjoy your time. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
