Itinerary

Show details
Day 01: Arrival in Sri Lanka

After arriving at Colombo International Airport, you will meet a chauffeur guide. He will take you to the hotel in Negombo in an air-conditioned vehicle.

Overnight stay is in Negombo.

Day 02: Negombo - Trincomalee

You will check-out of the hotel after having breakfast. You will proceed towards Trincomalee. Check-in at the hotel and relax for some time. In the evening, you will visit Nilaveli Beach. Located 16 km northwest of Trincomalee, Nilaveli is a coastal resort town in Sri Lanka. It is a major tourist attraction in the region.

Afterward, you will return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Trincomalee.

Day 03: Trincomalee - Pasikudah

After having breakfast, you will check-out and depart for Pasikudah. Before leaving the town, you will explore the famous Pigeon Island National Park. Located just 1 km off the coast of Nilaveli is Pigeon Island National Park. Considered as one of the important marine national parks in the country, it is renowned for a wide variety of vegetation species, coral and reef fish.

Afterward, you will move towards Pasikudah. You will check-in at the hotel after reaching there and enjoy a beach stay.

Day 04: Pasikudah - Polonnaruwa - Dambulla

After having breakfast, you will check-out of the hotel and proceed towards Dambulla via Polonnaruwa.

One can trace the origins of the town in the form of tombs, temples, statues, and stupas. The archeological park in Polonnaruwa is a sight to behold for tourists as it boasts of the rich heritage of the country. It is recommended to have lunch at Priyamali gedara.

Later, you will enjoy a wildlife safari in Minneriya National Park. Considered as one of the best national parks in the country, Minneriya National Park is home to Sri Lankan elephants, monkeys, crocodiles, leopards, peacocks, small black bears, deer, birds, etc.

Later, you will check-in to the hotel for an overnight stay in Dambulla.

Day 05: Dambulla - Kandy

You will have breakfast at the hotel. Then, you will explore the splendid Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Also referred to as “The Lion Rock”, it is located near Dambulla. The monument served as a citadel for 18 years. The major highlights of the fortress include architectural and irrigational technologies, steps of metal, and a wall decorated with frescoes of bare-breasted women.

Later, you will pay a visit to Dambulla Cave Temple. The temple comprises 5 caves, 157 statues of Lord Buddha, and various paintings on the ceilings and walls. The history of the caves and temple dates back to the 1st century BC. All these articles portray the craftsmanship of the artists of that time. It is due to all these beautiful aspects that the temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Then, you will proceed towards Kandy, en-route visiting the National Spice Garden in Matale. The garden allows tourists to know the reason for the popularity of Sri Lankan herbs and spices. The environment in Matale is suitable for growing cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, peppercorn, and other items. Tourists will get to know about the eco-friendly methods of growing these products. Then, you will stop by a souvenir shop, from where you can buy some exotic spices.

In the evening, you will enjoy the Kandy Cultural Show. It lets tourists gain insights into the culture and traditions of Sri Lanka. During the hour-long show, tourists will enjoy different art forms. You will be astonished by the performance of fire dancers and sword dancers.

At last, you will return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 06: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

After having breakfast, you will check-out of the hotel and head towards Nuwara Eliya. Before leaving the town, you will visit the famous Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. The temple was built in 1595 by the Kandyan kings to honor the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. The temple receives a large number of white-clad pilgrims, who worship by offering the lotus flowers. The temple has intricate carvings of architectural values of the town. The temple is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Thereafter, you will explore Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden. The temple is home to over 4000 species of plants including a wide variety of colorful orchids, medicinal plants, spices, palm trees and many more. Featuring an abundance of lofty trees, bamboos, and lianas, the garden contributes majorly to the sustainability and biodiversity of the country.

At last, you will visit the Ramboda Waterfall. Considered as the 11th highest waterfall in the country, it is also the 729th highest waterfall in the world. Located in the Pussellawa area, the fall is 945 m above the sea level.

Then, you will proceed towards Nuwara Eliya, where an overnight stay is scheduled.

Day 07: Nuwara Eliya

After having breakfast, you will have free time in Nuwara Eliya. You will visit the tea factory, where you will learn about the production of tea. You will get to know about the processes involved in producing tea. You can also taste one or two types of tea at the tea factory.

Overnight stay is in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 08: Nuwara Eliya - Colombo

After having breakfast at the hotel, you will check-out and proceed towards Colombo.

In Colombo, you will get to know about the culture of the country, take a stroll around the bustling streets, explore markets, and enjoy the urban lifestyle of people. Hence, the city can be described as a fusion of cultures, religions, and socioeconomic classes. The city tour includes Gangarama Seema Malakaya, National Museum, Old Parliament, Independence Memorial Arcade and Independence Square, Beire Lake, Odel shopping, Cinnamon gardens, Shopping at Laksala state-owned Handicrafts emporium, Lighthouse, Clock tower, and Colombo Harbor.

You will visit the Gangaramaya Temple, which is one of the most important ones in the country. The temple represents a blend of modern architecture and cultural essence. The Buddhist temple has various buildings and an elephant, named Ganga. The temple has features of a Vihara (temple), the Cetiya (Pagoda) the Bodhi tree, the Vihara Mandiraya, the Seema Malaka (assembly hall for monks) and the Relic Chamber. Moreover, the temple complex also has a museum, a library, a residential hall, a three-storied Pirivena, educational halls, and alms hall.

Then, you will be dropped back at the hotel for spending the night.

Day 09: Departure

After having breakfast, you will check-out of the hotel. You will be dropped at the international airport for catching a flight to the further destination.
