The pink city attracts tourists for its historical monuments with thrilling revelation of the ancient skillful architects. The city is also a shopping hub for gems, jewelries, handicraft, bangles, pottery, leather, textiles, carpets, antiques and metal and wooden products. The Amer fort, with fabulous location in Aravalli hills, is around 11 km from the main city. It was built of red sand and marble and Maodha Lake adds to the certain charm of the palace. It has many halls and pavilions of great interest. The Architectural design of the Maharaja City Palace, another captivating monument here,is largely based on the fusion of Mughal, Rajput and European styles.The pyramid shaped HawaMahal; the palace of wind, was built for the royal ladies to observe the daily life on the street, without actually being seen. Today, you have full day to enjoy Jaipur. The first place to visit is Amer fort, also popularly known as Amber fort. The fort with its obscure courtyards was built by Raja Man Singh in 1592 AD and thereafter expanded and renovated by Raja Jai Sigh.This palace appears to be built on elephant’s back has been divided in four attractive sections with courtyards in every section. Each section signifies the old royal architecture. The entrance gate ‘Surajpol’ is bound to attract your attention. The Rajput dynasties, which ruled this region of great warriors were devout devotees of deities and thus, built eye catching temples. A temple dedicated to the Goddess Sila Devi, near Ganesh gate is bound to attract your attention.Diwan-e-Khas,Diwan-e-Aam, SukhNiwas and Sheesh Mahal are other places, in the palace boasting the skills of age-old attractive artistic work. Sheesh Mahal, a palace of glass with extremely opulent decor and gorgeousness leaves you spellbound. The pillars of the palace are decorated with glass pieces in exclusive manner. Diwan-e-Khas was for private audience of the royal family while Diwan-e-Aam was built for public audience. The surroundings of SukhNiwas are pleasant, with cool breeze blowing over the artificial water cascade. In Jaipur you will also visit the City palace, having seven floors, each displaying unique decor, with unexpected beauty and charm.The City Palace, built between 1729 and 1732 AD by Sawai Jai Singh, was the place from where the king reigned from. The royal family still lives in this palace complex. Unlike many other such palaces, this century old palace withstood all the tests of time and invasion. The palace overall has grand view reflecting its historical importance with grace. The palace highlights three architectural styles - Mughal, Rajput and European styles.
Another place to visit is JantarMantar, an astronomical observatory with 14 colossal astronomical instruments, all made of stones.Each instrument has a specific role to play.The observatory is used to measure the positions and distances of Celestial objects.
India has five such observatories and this one is the biggest among them. As The instruments are incredibly accurate, they attract astronomers and mathematicians from across the world. HawaMahal( the Palace of Wind) also stands tall speaking out its illustrious history in silence.

After breakfast, get ready for a 6-hour road journey for Pushkar, a pilgrimage for Hindu cult having a sacred lake and the Brahma temple, the one and the only in the world. According to the Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma created the universe. Pushkar, located in North-West of Ajmer, is one of the oldest cities of the country.
The tranquil city attracts tourists and devotees flocking to Rajasthan. Besides mythological importance, the place is also popular for its legacy of timeless architectural heritage. According to legends, Lord Brahma dropped a Lotus here, which immediately created a lake and he named the place as Pushkar. Hindu devotees reaching the ancient city believe that taking a dip in the auspicious and holy lake will help attain salvation. In the Hindu scriptures, Pushkar is described as ‘teerth Raj’, the king of all pilgrimages. The Hindus also believe that no pilgrimage is complete without taking a holy dip in the lake. Now it is the time for transfer to Jodhpur by road, a place better known for lavish marriages and film shootings. Jodhpur – the former capital of Marwarregion - is the second largest city of Rajasthan. The city has hot climate as it is located at the edge of Thardesert. Jodhpur, a manifestation of courage and bravery is also , popularly known as the blue city as most of the houses in old city are painted blue. In Jodhpur, you will be welcomed by the first rays of the sun, as it seems to rise here first than in any other part of the world. Thus, it is also popularly called the Sun City. Traditional festivals like Gangaur, Teej, Nag Panchmi, etc are celebrated with pomp and show, in colorful manner.
In the afternoon, you will visit Meherangarh fort, one of the largest and fabulous forts of not only Rajasthan but of the country. The fort is praised for its stunning architectural designs. Perched upon a 400 feet high hill, the fort is spread across 5 km in the heart of the city. The fort is the ideal place to explore the glorious history of the region. The pearl palace or MotiMahal, with a beautiful and stunning look was built by Raja Sur Singh. Later you will be taken to PhoolMahal - the Palace of Flowers - believed to be the exclusive chamber for pleasure of the royal family. The palace was built by Maharaja AbhayaSingh.Also, you will be taken to JaswantThada built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. The monument, built in 1899 is a place that tourists would never like to forget.
The entire structure is constructed out of thin and polished sheets of marble which makes it quite beautiful when sunlight falls over it. The domes are carved in traditional Rajasthan style, thus making it a charming site. You will also visit the Umaid Public Gardens which houses the Government Museum and the UmaidBhawan Museum. You will be proceeding towards Udaipur, with a stopover to see Ranakpur Jain temple complex of 15th century. The world-wide acclaimed place is one of the top five pilgrimages of Jain cult. The temple complex, popular for its superb and intricate architecture is located in the west side of the Aravalli range. The complex, certainly creditable for it splendid architecture, is constructed of light colored marbles. Exquisitely carved 1400 pillars support the main temple. The complex has several attractive temples, including Chaumukha temple, Surya temple, Amba temple and the Parshvanath temple. The four-faced chamukha temple is the most important temple, which is dedicated to Adinathji the first Tirthankara. If time permits, you could also visit the Surya Temple and the Jain temple.

And who does not know that Rani Padmini performed johar (self-immolation), when AlauddinKhilji invaded the kingdom. Though, MaharanaUdaiSingh, started this superb wonder in 1559 A.D.but the present form is the result of the subsequent renovations by his successors. The palace boasts of beautiful blend of Medieval, European and Chinese architectural styles. The palace has many arches, towers and domes, which further add to its flavor. Often distinguished as the exclusive marvel, the City Palace is truly a feast to eye. The next place to visit is Jagdish temple, one of the most popular temples of Udaipur. MaharanaJagat Singh built this shrine - situated in the City Palace complex -in 1651. The architecture of this temple is based on Indo-Aryan style and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. Following Jagdish temple visit, you will enjoy a drive around FatehSagarlake. Maharaja Fateh Singh built this lake in 1678 and the lake derives its name from him.
One of the most renowned museum of Udaipur is BhartiyaLok Kala museum, wherein handicraft products and uniforms of erstwhile rulers are at display and Visiting here, will enrich you with the information of age-old legacy.Now, your last destination is Sahelionki Bari (Queen's Now at the resort for her friends). The Pichola lake is surrounded by splendid hills, palaces, temples, bathing areas and embankments make it world famous for its picturesque and scenic beauty. It is one of oldest and the biggest lakes of Rajasthan. Coming to Udaipur and not enjoying boat ride here is unpardonable. Boat cruises here attract tourists in large number.
