Golden Triangle Tour overview

Nepal and India are neighboring countries and have their own unique cultures, which have some connection with the royal era's history and beliefs. Nepal, although it is a small country, has its own set of monuments and attractions. And India, being a large and culturally diverse country, offers a lot on its plate as well. Hence a tour covering both of these countries together will be nothing short of an adventure of its own.

Being the largest metropolitan in Himalayan Hill Region, Kathmandu is also the biggest city as well as the capital of Nepal. Kathmandu has some of the best and elaborated architectures that you will come across. The famous Swayambunath is an ancient, multi-storied temple complex along with being a pilgrimage, and is considered an extraordinarily pious and peaceful place. Pashupatinath Temple is another one of architectural wonders, and this revered, historic temple is considered very sacred among the Hindu devotees. Kathmandu Durbar Square and Thamel are extremely famous places as well and must be visited.

Apart from being a large metropolitan, Pokhara is a place of natural beauty. The Davis Falls are majestic underground waterfalls and are a popular spot among the locals as well as tourists. Phewa Lake is an excellent spot for adventurous people. You can also get an opportunity for paragliding there. For those who want a calmer lake experience can visit Begnas Lake, which is famous for fishing, boating, and swimming. You can also visit Mahendra Caves, which are known for their limestone formations that are, without a doubt, magnificent.

With an area of 952 square kilometers, Chitwan National Park is the first National Park of Nepal. It inhibits more than seven hundred species of wildlife, excluding several species like butterflies, moths, and other insects and reptile species. Their river and lake systems and tributaries have about a hundred and thirteen species of fishes and mugger crocodiles. Among the sixty-eight mammal species, Bengal Tiger takes the spotlight, followed by leopards, otters, foxes, and sloth bears, and this is not even the tip of the iceberg. There are over five hundred species of birds here as well, which is an impressive number.

Your journey will further take you to Varanasi, also known as Banaras or Benares, which is the holiest city of Hindu religion, even among the seven sacred cities, or Sapta Puri. It is not just a significant city for Hinduism, as it has played vital roles in the development of Buddhism and Jainism. Varanasi is home to at least eighty-four ghats, including the Dashashwamedh Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, and Assi Ghat. It is also abode to the famous and holy Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, which is one of the ancient Hindu Temples.

Agra is the home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, that is, the Taj Mahal. This marble beauty was constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his most beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took around sixteen years to finish, and the end product ended up being one of the most beautiful and romantic monuments of all time. Agra is also home to the famous Agra Fort, as well as the Tomb of Akbar the Great, and Itmad ul Daula, famously known as the Baby Taj.

Delhi is the capital of India, and it is a blend of various religions and cultures. Several monuments were left by people from different royal eras, as well as the colonial, British Raj era. The hustling and more classic Old Delhi still sometimes gives the vibes of the old days, and houses places like the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. New Delhi is more modern looking and is home to places like the India Gate and Connaught Place. And the variety of lip-smacking street food that Delhi offer is unmatchable, according to many!

This Nepal and India trip from Kathmandu is the perfect gateway to explore some of the most beautiful places, giving travelers a chance to explore two countries in one vacation from their bucket lists!
