After a dazzling day in Mumbai, you move on to more historic experiences in Aurangabad and visit Ajanta and Ellora Caves near the city. You will spend nights in cities like Burhanpur and Maheshwar and take an excursion to Mandu to better understand the history and culture of Central India before reaching the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal. When you arrive in Mumbai, you will be met with your tour assistant at the airport who will help you to go to the hotel. After some rest, in the Afternoon visit some of the amazing sights of the city, such as the Hanging Gardens on the slopes of Malabar Hill. From here you will have an amazing view over the expansive Marine Drive. The city also has the Chowpatty Beach, Prince of Wales Museum, Mani Bhawan, Dhobi Ghat and Gateway of India to visit. You will also drive through the beautiful and diverse Crawford Market, Marine Drive, and finally the Floral Fountain before ending your day.
On the next day of your India Tour Package from Mumbai, you spend the morning at your leisure before going to the airport in the afternoon, to catch your flight to Aurangabad. Upon reaching Aurangabad, you meet assistance there and travel to your hotel. Spend the night relaxing in Aurangabad.
After breakfast, you visit one of the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites, the Ellora Caves. The Ellora Caves is one of the largest rock-cut monastery temple structures in the world where you can see the artwork dating in the 600-1000 CE period of history. The cave also features Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain monuments of great historical importance which will leave you breathless. Once you are done with lunch, you will visit the other sites of historical significance here including Daulatabad Fort, Aurangzeb’s tomb, and Bibi Ka Maqbara – the tomb of his wife.
In the morning after breakfast visit the Ajanta Caves, which along with Ellora is one of the most famous cave structures in the world. They are a collection of 30 Buddhist rock-cut caves dating back to 2nd century BCE and of utmost importance for understanding art history of that time. Once you are done with lunch, you then travel to Burhanpur and end the day by checking into the hotel and relaxing for the night.
In the morning, you get to spend the day visiting the various sites of significance in Burhanpur including Jama Masjid, Shahi Qila/ Mughal Bagh Palace, Darga-E-Hakimi, Gurudwara Badi Sangat Badshahi Dus, as well as the Kundi Bhandara. Spend the night in Burhanpur.
In the morning you drive to Maheshwar and check into the hotel upon reaching. Later you get to visit the Maheshwar Fort, rebuilt and popularised by Maharani Ahilyabai and later enjoy a soothing and calm boat ride in the Narmada River towards the evening. You spend the night in Maheshwar.
Following completing breakfast you get to go to the Mandu fort, which is one of India’s biggest forts. Here you visit the Jahaz Mahal, the Hindola Mahal, Jahangir Maha, Jami Masjid, Hoshang Shah Tomb, Roopmati Pavillion and the Baz Bahadur Palace, which is the palace of the last Sultan of Malwa. You then return to Maheshwar and spend the night there.
Next morning you travel to the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, where you check in at the hotel. In the evening explore the richness and history of Old Bhopal with a walk. Take your time to enjoy the magnificence of the sunset at Bhopal Lake before spending the night at Bhopal.
In the morning you get to visit Bhojpur Temple which has one of the largest lingas in India at 18 feet tall and 7.5 feet in circumference. After visiting this holy site, take your time to take in the history surrounding you when you visit the Bhimbetka rock shelter caves. The caves are from the times of the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods, as well as the historical period of time, which showcase some of the first-ever traces of human life in the Indian Subcontinent. It also has archaeological evidence of the start of Stone Age from the Acheulian times. After all of this, in the afternoon visit the Taj-UI-Masajid, Gohar Mahal, and the Shaukat Mahal. Spend the night in Bhopal.
After breakfast go to Jabalpur via Sanchi Stupa. Sanchi Stupa is a Buddhist Complex and is famous for housing the Great Stupa which is located on a hilltop. Also here visit the Udaygiri Caves, which are a collection of twenty rock-cut caves from the early 5th century CE. Once you arrive in Jabalpur go to the hotel. In the evening you will be witness to the famous Aarti Ceremony taking place at the Gauri Ghat of the river Narmada. Spend the night at Jabalpur.
In the morning, you will be able to take in the majesty of the Dhuandhar Waterfall following which a boat ride on the river Narmada awaits you. Here you will see the 100 foot tall White Marble Rocks of Bhedhaghat. In the afternoon, drive to Khajuraho and check into your hotel. Spend the evening and night in leisure in Khajuraho.
In the morning, as part of your India Tour Package from Mumbai, visit the group of Khajuraho temples, both Western and Eastern. These are some of the most exquisite specimens of erotic sculpture in India and many say the inspiration behind Kamasutra. The afternoon will consist of the drive to Orchha where you will spend the night.
In the morning take your breakfast and then visit the Jehangir Mahal and the Raja Mahal. You will also visit the Chaturbhuj Temple and then drive to Chanderi. Once you reach there, check into the hotel and spend the rest of the night in Chanderi.
The next morning after breakfast, visit the Koshak Mahal, and the incredible Chanderi Fort. Also, visit the Jama Masjid, and the Bada Mahal gate which is located hear, along with Battisi Baoli. Visit the Pranpur village, where the looms will be soothing for both your ears and your eyes while talking to the very weavers who create the magic here.
In the morning here visit the Jehangir Mahal, the Chaturbhuj Temple and the Raja Mahal if you have not before. After taking in the rich history of these locations, you will drive to Gwalior. On the way to Gwalior, you will visit the Datia Palace which is also known as Vir Singh Palace after its builder. Also, on the way, you will visit the Jain temples of Sonagir. Check into your hotel upon reaching Gwalior and then spend the night there.
In Gwalior, after breakfast, take a full city tour of Gwalior where you will visit the Tomb of Ghaus Mohammad and Jai Vilas Palace. Also located here is the tomb of Tansen, the musical genius who was one of the nine gems of Akbar’s court. In the afternoon visit the Gwalior fort, where you will see the Man Singh Palace, Teli Ka Mandir, and the Sahastra Bahu Temple, before spending the night in Gwalior.
In the morning, drive to Dholpur, but on the way visiting the Mitawli Temple and the Garhi Padawli Palace. Also on the way is the famous Bateshwar group of temples which you should take your time to visit and take in. Once you reach Dholpur, check-in and then enjoy your lunch. After lunch, take part in the Chambal ravines safari which is a 4-5 hour experience. Spend the night in Dholpur.
In the morning take part in the Chambal boat safari which is an hour’s experience on the Chambal River. In the afternoon, drive to Agra and check in at the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure and rest in Agra.
In the morning take in one of the Seven Wonders of the World located in Agra, Taj Mahal, which had been built by the Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal in her loving memory. It is thus considered as one of the very few monuments built on the foundation of love and not war and blood. Also see the Agra Fort, where Aurangzeb had imprisoned Shah Jahan in his final days, while the Emperor looked out at the Taj Mahal in wonder. In the afternoon, make the drive to Delhi and check-in to spend the night there.
In Delhi, the following day, visit the Jama Masjid, and Chandni Chowk, as well as the Raj Ghat to visit the Gandhi Memorial here. After lunch drive past and take in the India Gate, and explore the Red Fort, the President’s House, and the Qutub Minar built by the first Delhi Sultan, Qutub-ud-din-Aibak. Finally, return to your hotel in the evening and spend the night in Delhi.
In the morning, travel to the Indira Gandhi International Airport where you will board your flight to go home and end your journey.
