Day 01 Guwahati - Eco Camp (210 km - 6 hrs)

Welcome to Guwahati, India. Get received by JTI staffs and our representative who would transfer you to Eco Camp at Nameri National Park, near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.

Located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, Nameri National Park is a destination for nature lovers, especially bird enthusiasts. The sanctuary is the home to more than 370 species of birds. The captivating experience of bird watching while rafting through the Jia Bhoroli river or the adventurous trekking across the forest are the main attractions of the place.

The accommodation at Eco Camp is equally thrilling. You will spend overnight at outdoors in comfortable double bedded tents with thatched roof canopy. Overnight at Eco Camp.

Day 02 Eco Camp

Wake up early, have your breakfast and get ready because you will be driven 25 km upstream from Eco Camp for river rafting at Bhorelli River. Rafting down the gentle rapids of Jia Bhoroli River assisted by expert boatmen is an experience of a lifetime. You will cover the entire park across the river that is a stretch of 15 km. The lucky ones can catch a glimpse of wild birds while enjoying the thrilling experience of level one rafting.

In the afternoon, trekking is on the cards near Nameri National Park located on the other side of the Bhorelli River. The trekking route is 5 km long and takes place right at the middle of the park amid the enthralling experience of wild animals and birds.

Come back to the camp by evening and spend overnight at the Eco Camp.

Day 03 Eco Camp – Eagle’s Nest Wildlife Sanctuary (150 kms - 5 hrs)

Have your breakfast and start early for the day. You will be driven to Eagle’s Nest Wildlife Sanctuary in Arunachal Pradesh and check-in to Lama Camp. The sanctuary is named after the Indian army post ‘Eaglenest’ bordering Bhutan, and is situated on the western end of Arunachal Pradesh in North East India.

In the evening, you will be taken for birding at the Eagle’s Nest. It is notable as one of the most favorite birding site where you would see rare varieties of birds in a total of at least 454 species including colorful birds like trogons, pitas and flowerpeckers.

Come back to the Lama Camp for overnight.

Day 04 Eagle’s Nest

The bird watching continues on this day near Lama Camp after finishing breakfast. You will be surprised to see the rarest of the species, including some of those found nowhere else in India. The sanctuary is the home to birds like yuhina, flowerpecker, tesia, flycatcher, nuthatch, laughing thrush, sibia, slender bill, babbler, warbler, tit, sunbird, fulvetta, milna, hill partridge, khalid pheasant, Satyr Tragopan, bush robin and others to name a few.

You would love the stunning views of the snow capped peaks of the Eastern Himalayas from Lama birding camp. Nature is a bit too humble in the area in terms of beauty and the terrain ranges from thick bamboo thickets to high altitude alpine forests. The remoteness of this place is the best part for the nature lovers to enjoy.

The birding continues for the day. Come back to the camp in the evening for overnight.

Day 05 Eagle’s Nest

This day begins with a bit of trekking to the Bompu Birding Camp which is located at lower altitude. Bompu camp offers accommodation in approximately 15 basic tents well-equipped with comfortable cots and thick mattresses. A fully functional kitchen and a separate dining tent are also there to have freshly cooked meal.

Later this day, you will be taken for birding around Bompu Camp. Keep your mind and eyes alert and the camera ready to capture the glimpse of some of the rarest of the species of birds found only here. It is best to hire a guide well experienced and well-versed with birds to help you in birding.

Day 06 Eagle’s Nest

The birding continues for the day around Bompu Birding Camp. You will trek a bit to explore the entire spread for bird watching and catching the sights of as many birds you can. Your guide would help you with the tips and also guide the route where you can spot the maximum number of birds.

Day 07 Eagle’s Nest to Tezpur (185 km – 6 hours)

Start in the morning to descend down to Tezpur as you inch towards the end of your trip. Located on the banks of river Brahmaputra, the history of the place dates back to the Mahabharata era. The historically rich city bears magnificent relics from the ancient days, though it is now urbanized and commercialized like most of the major cities of the country.

Reach Tezpur and check-in to your hotel for overnight.

Day 08 Tezpur to Guwahati (180 km – 5 hours)

Get transferred to Guwahati and directly to the airport to board your return or onward flight.
