Day 01 Arrive at Mumbai

After arriving at the Mumbai International airport, our representative will greet you and help you in checking in at your pre-booked hotel. Mumbai is the home of the Indian movie industry, famously known as Bollywood. It is also the commercial and fashion hub of the country. Rest of the evening is at leisure for you to rest before your beautiful architecture and museum tour of India starts. If you like, you can venture out to experience Mumbai night life or sit back and relax at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Mumbai.

Day 02 Explore Mumbai

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and start your tour by sightseeing of Mumbai. Enjoy a boat ride from the Gateway of India to Elephanta Caves. The Gateway of India is an arch monument that has been built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary's to India in the year 1911. The Gateway of India also happens to be one of the major Indian ports.

Elephanta Caves are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a collection of cave temples which are dedicated to the Lord Shiva, much revered Hindu god. These caves are famous for their rock cut sculptures. The Elephanta Caves which exist today are the ruins of the elaborated painted artworks. They provide an amazing view of the Mumbai skyline. In the evening you will visit Mahalaxmi Temple, Prince of Wales Museum whose foundation stone was laid by Prince of Wales in 1905, The Hanging Gardens and The Victoria Terminus which is Mumbai's railway station known for its Gothic style architecture. Overnight stay at the hotel in the city of Bollywood, Bombay.

Day 03 Mumbai to Aurangabad by flight

This morning in time you will be transferred to the airport to board the morning flight to Aurangabad from Mumbai Domestic Airport. Our representative would meet you upon your arrival in Aurangabad and will take you on a tour to the world heritage site of Ellora caves in the afternoon. Ellora caves lets you understand the ancient Indian civilization. They are located around 29 kms towards the north west of the city of Mumbai. Ellora Caves have 5 caves dedicated to Jainism, 17 caves to Hinduism and 12 caves to Buddhism thus showcasing a strong spiritual connection between different religions of India. The caves celebrate the spirit of tolerance which was a trademark characteristic of ancient India. Enjoy overnight stay at the hotel in Aurangabad.

Note: Ellora Caves are closed on Tuesdays.

Day 04 Aurangabad city tour

In the morning you will visit the Ajanta Caves after you have had a delicious meal at your hotel. The Ajanta caves are the most famous UNESCO World Heritage site. They are a Buddhist monastery complex consisting of twenty-nine rock cut caves containing beautiful carvings, engravings and paintings on the walls of the cave showcasing the stories of Buddhism and Jataka Tales. These caves are a treasured heritage and were built for providing home to the Buddhist monks. The monks used these caves to teach in the adjoining Chaityas and Viharas. After visiting the caves, you will return to the hotel for night stay. Overnight is in Aurangabad.

Note: Ajanta Caves are closed on Mondays.

Day 05 Aurangabad to Delhi by flight.

You will board a flight to Delhi. On arrival at the airport our representative will greet you and escort you to the hotel where you can rest and relax. Rest of the day is at leisure for you to do last minute souvenir shopping. Overnight is in the hotel in Delhi.

Day 06 Delhi Tour

This morning after breakfast you would visit all the major tourist attractions in Old and New Delhi like Red Fort which was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty, Humayun's Tomb which is the tomb of Emperor Humayun , JamaMajid which is the largest mosque in India, Laxmi Narayan Temple also known as Birla Temple, QutabMinar which is the tallest brick minaret in the world, Lotus Temple which is built in the shape of lotus flower and Rajghat which is the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. Then you will proceed for a guided tour to the Parliament House, President House, India Gate which is a war memorial located at the Rajghat. You can explore the local bazaars of Delhi where you can get the latest fashion and best deals. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay. Overnight is in Delhi.

Day 07 Varanasi

This day in time you will be transferred to the airport to board a flight bound to Varanasi. Upon arrival you will be greeted by our representative who will help you check in at your hotel. You can also opt to visit Sarnath. Sarnath was an important spot in ancient India where holy men lived. After attaining enlightenment in Bodh Gaya, Lord Buddha visited Sarnath to get back to his fellow monks in Sarnath. Buddha and preached five of his companions. This was his first ever sermon. Arrive at your hotel and stay overnight in Varanasi

Day 08 Explore Varanasi

Varanasi is also known as Banaras and is one of the holiest cities of India. It is the spiritual capital of India and is visited by hundreds of tourists. The major attractions of the city that you would be visiting are DurgaMandir, KashiVishwanathMandir also known as the Golden Temple dedicated to God Shiva, Banaras Hindu University which is the largest residential university in Asia and TulsiManasMandir which holds utmost cultural importance as the Hindu epic Ramcharitmanas was originally written at this place by the renowned Hindu poet-saint Tulsidas. In the evening be a part of the evening prayer (Aarti) which is performed at the banks of the Ganges and be blessed. Enjoy your overnight stay in the hotel at Varanasi.

Day 09 Travel To Khajuraho by flight.

This morning in time be transferred to the airport to board a flight bound to Khajuraho. On arrival, meet our representative and check in at your hotel. Later if time permits proceed for a guided tour of Khajuraho. It is famous for the ancient temples which depicts some of the finest traditional art forms in the world. Enjoy the light and sound show in the evening. Relax at the hotel and stay overnight at Khajuraho.

Day 10 City tour of Khajuraho

In the morning drive towards the group of famous Chandela dynasty temples. These temples are famous for their nagara-style architectural symbolism and their erotic sculptures and carvings. The temples are dedicated to revered Hindu deities Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Some of the most famous temples here include the Matangesvara Temple, the Kandariya Temple, The Varaha Temple and the Lakshmana Temple. After visiting these temples, return to the hotel and stay overnight at the hotel. Overnight is in Khajuraho.

Day 11 Travel To Orcha And Gwalior by road.

In the morning after breakfast, drive to Gwalior and visit Orcha en route. Orcha has some famous temples and fort. On reaching Gwalior check in to the hotel, leave your luggage and freshen up. Visit Raj mahal which has existed since the 10th century, JehangirMahal, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Chaturbhuj Temple and Chhatris( cenotaphs) in Orcha. Have a mesmerizing evening at the Gwalior Fort while enjoying the light and sound show. Overnight is in Gwalior.

Day 12 Explore Gwalior

After breakfast, sit back and enjoy the beautiful tour of Gwalior. Visit the two major tourist attractions in Gwalior, the Gwalior Fort which is on a hill near Gwalior is a sandstone construction, dominating the whole landscape of the city, the fort has been a testimony to many historical happenings that have taken place there and then visit the Museum. On the same day leave for Agra. Overnight is in the city of TajMahal, Agra.

Day 13 Sightseeing of Agra

In the morning witness the beauty of TajMahal during sunrise. It is built on the banks of River Yamuna built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his late wife MumtazMahal. It is one of the seven wonders of the world. Its beauty will make you fall in love with it. The beautiful white monument with its intricate designs can leave the visitor enchanted. Another must watch architectural wonder is the Red Fort which receives hundreds of visitors every day. Overnight stay at the hotel in Agra.

Day 14 Agra to Jaipur by road.

This morning after breakfast leave for Jaipur in the early morning. On arrival check in at the hotel. Jaipur is known as the Pink City for its trademark building colour and has many places worth visiting. Visit famous places like the Jama Masjid, FatehpurSikri, Palace of JodhaBai, BirbalBhawan, The BulandDarwaza and PanchMahal. Overnight stay at the hotel in Jaipur.

Day 15 Explore Jaipur

Explore Jaipur by visiting the places that can’t be missed when on a tour to Jaipur. Visit the City Palace ,which is a heritage structure and is the home of the Jaipur Royal family. Visit the Jaipur Amber Fort which is located on a hill and overlooks the Maota Lake which is the main source of water for the Amber Fort. Enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel in the royal city of Jaipur.

Day 16 Travel To Mumbai

This day in time you will be transferred to the airport to board a flight to Mumbai. On arriving in Mumbai, you will be transferred to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure and stay overnight at the hotel in Mumbai.

Day 17 Departure From Mumbai

After checking out of the hotel, our representative will take you to the Mumbai International airport for your onward journey. The beautiful guided architecture trip ends. We hope to see you again with another itinerary, another part of the historical India to be covered and make memories.
