Day 01 Arrival in Delhi

The historical city of Delhi, capital of India and the political hub, welcomes you. On your arrival, you will be greeted by our representative and later will would be transferred to your hotel.

Delhi is a glorious city with a long history. Being the capital of several dynasties, Delhi has seen history unfold in front of its eyes. The different monuments of the city showcase the vibrant culture and heritage of the country.

The Mughal rulers had a tremendous influence on the city. The Mughlai cuisines like biryani, kebabs, and kormas are a flavorful and sumptuous affair meant to excite the taste buds, originated here. Home to people belonging to several religions and cultures, the city celebrates most of the festivals like Diwali, Eid, Christmas, etc.

Interestingly, Delhi has been the city of contrasts. The Old Delhi’s maze of small lanes connects you to the past, whereas New Delhi with its big roads and high rise buildings brings you back to modern times. Overnight is in the capital of India, New Delhi.

Day 02 Delhi sightseeing

Today, you will have a full day tour of Delhi. In the morning tour, you will visit the Old Delhi-hub of the Mughal rulers built by Mughal ruler Shah Jahan. You will visit the Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. The trip to the museum commemorating Gandhi’s work and ideas would be on the itinerary. You would be driving past Lal Qila (Red Fort) and Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest markets of Delhi. Our next stop on our list would be Jama Masjid built by Shah Jahan.

A rickshaw ride (optional) through the crowded lanes of Chandni Chowk, full of people and shops, could be an interesting experience. The variety of shops at the area, sells different items like clothes, jewelry, household goods or savor in the delicious Mughlai cuisines the city is well known for.

In the afternoon, you would visit the famous Qutub Minar, a grand brick minaret built by Qutb-ud-din Aibak. The place has been listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Next on the list is another world heritage site - Humayun’s Tomb (Maqbara-i Humayun). The tomb was commissioned by Empress Bega Begum for her late husband Humayan (2nd Mughal ruler). The building is a great example of Indo-Mughal architecture. After a historically enriching trip, you would be taken to the India Gate. It is a war memorial dedicated to Unknown Soldiers. Later you would be driven past the Parliament House, President House and the Government Secretarial Buildings.

Your final stop for the day would be Laxminarayan Temple (also referred to as Birla Temple). The temple is dedicated to the Lord Vishnu, the preserver in the Hindu mythology, and his divine consort Lakshmi, goddess of wealth.

At the end of the day, you would be transferred to your hotel in Delhi. Overnight is in Delhi.

Day 03 Delhi → Jaipur by road.

On the next leg of the trip, you will travel to Jaipur from Delhi by road. The trip would take approximately 5.5 hours.

The Jaipur, located in the westward portion of the famous golden triangle, is the capital of Rajasthan. Named after King Jai Singh II, the vibrant city is also fondly referred to as the Pink City. This name comes mainly due to the pink-dominated color scheme of the city. Jaipur is more than 260 years old filled with a glorious past.

Arrive at Jaipur, check in at the hotel and rest of the evening is at leisure for you to explore the near by areas, shop for souvenirs or just relax at the hotel. Overnight is in the pink city of Rajasthan, Jaipur.

Day 04 Jaipur Sightseeing

Today’s entire day is dedicated to exploring the city of Jaipur and the Amer Fort.

We will start our Jaipur trip from the Amer Fort (Amer Palace). You can opt to ascend the fort on an elephant’s back. Constructed in red sandstone by the King Man Singh I, with elaborate artistic elements, this fort is one of the most visited landmarks of the city. The fort overlooks the beautiful Maota Lake, and is divided in four sections with a courtyard. The main entrance of the monument, Suraj Phool, has an interesting architecture. At the Ganesh Gate, the Sila Devi temple is very fascinating. The fort consists of Diwan-e-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), Diwan-e-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) and the Sukh Niwas. The Sukh Niwas, is an example of the Rajput architectural designed. The room is designed in a manner so that, wind blowing over the water cascades within the palace cools it naturally.

After that you would be taken to the Maharaja City Palace and Jantar Mantar, an observatory built by the King Sawai Jai Singh II. The City Palace has a beautiful mixture of Indian, Mughal and European architecture. Jantar Mantar has the world’s largest sundial. The Hawa Mahal ( the palace of wind), located very close to the City Palace and Jantar Mantar, is another popular architectural marvel. You would also be taken to the business centers of Jaipur as well as the pink rose garden.

Jaipur is well-known for its bazaars (local markets) selling everything from clothes to wooden artifacts. You can buy metal, precious and semi-precious stones, silk miniature paintings from these stores.

After an insightful day, return to your hotel. Overnight is in the royal city of Rajasthan, Jaipur.

Day 5 Jaipur to Karauli by road (approx. 160 km)

You will enjoy breakfast in the hotel and then you will be driven to Karauli. Karauli is a small town in Rajasthan covered with hills and ravines. The entire town had been built like a fortress of red sandstone. The town is renowned for pale red stone architecture. There are various monuments to explore in the town like City Palace, Timangarh Fort, Kaila Devi Temple, Madan Mohan Ji Temple, Mahavir Jain Temple, etc. There is also a wildlife sanctuary, which is popular for a large population of birds and deer. In Karauli, you can enjoy activities as per your choice.

In the afternoon, you may go for a short walk or opt for a camel cart ride to explore the 5000-year-old village where you can spot a wide variety of shops selling bangles, wooden toys, bamboo items, traditional sweets, etc.

Later, you can have a look at the stonework which is popular all across the world. You can also visit the local markets (Haat Bazaar), temples and other lesser-known tourist spots.

Overnight stay is in the hotel.

Day 06 – Karauli → Agra en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri

On the Day 6th of your Golden Triangle Tour, you will be transferred to Agra by road. On the way, you would visit the majestic Fatehpur Sikri. Emperor Akbar, 3rd ruler of the Mughal Empire, built this fort. It is a beautiful monument depicting the grand Mughal architecture. You will start with Jama Masjid, followed by the tomb of Salim Chisti and five storied Panch Mahal. The fort has a central portico with arched entrances, resembling a horse-shoe.

Unofficially, this archway is called the Horseshoe gate. The main entrance, Buland Darwaza, is an iconic structure. Apart from that, you would visit the Ibadat Khana (prayer hall), Mariam-uz-Zamani’s palace (believed to be the residential complex of Akbar’s wife during her stay at the fort), Naubat Khana (drum house) and Birbal’s horse.

Agra, the former capital of the Mughal Empire, on the banks of river Yamuna is a beautiful city. Once the cultural capital of Mughals, Agra has been the witnessed multiple events in history. The city is famous for Taj Mahal.

At the end of the day, you would be transferred to hotel at Agra. Overnight is in the romantic city of Agra.

Day 07 Agra → Delhi by road.

You will start your Agra tour with the visit to the Taj Mahal. The monument, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, was built in the honor of Queen Mumtaz Mahal (wife and main consort of Shah Jahan-the 5th ruler of the Mughal dynasty). The ivory-white marble mausoleum standing on the banks of river Yamuna is a magnificent building showcasing Persian and early Mughal architecture. The monument is closed during Fridays.

Iconic monument, Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, would be your next stop on the trip. The fort was the official residence of the Mughals during their stay at Agra. The some of the historic sites within the fort complex are Khas Mahal, Jahangir Palace, Diwan-e-Aam and Diwan-e-Khas.
