Day 01 Kochi

Welcome to India. Welcome to the historical city of Fort Kochi. Our representative would greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is to visit the city. You would be visiting the ancient churches, the synagogue, the museums and the Chinese fishing nets at the Kochi harbor mouth. Later in the evening, you would be taken to watch a classical dance performance of Kathakali, the traditional dance of Kerala.

Overnight stay at Kochi.

Day 02 Kochi-Thattekad (Cycling: 60 km)

You would start early this morning to head off to the lowland forests of Thattekad by the banks of the Periyar River. Take a round of the spice gardens of the region, one of the famous things of Kerala. Reach Thattekad where you will be putting up at the luxury tented Hornbill Camp on the riverside. Get mesmerized by the spectacular beauty of the forest as you spend your evening relaxing amidst the perfect ambience of nature listening to the amazing sounds of the forest.

Stay overnight in the camp at Thattekad.

Day 03 Thattekad-Muthuvankudi (Cycling: 59 km)

Wake up early, and depart from the Hornbill camp to ride along the banks of River Periyar amidst forests, spice plantations, countryside of pineapple plantations and rubber estates to ultimate reach the foothills of the Western Ghats at Adimali. It is a small town in the Idukki district of Kerala which is famous for few beautiful waterfalls like Cheeyappara waterfall, Adimali waterfall and Valara waterfall. From there you will reach Muthuvankudi where you stay overnight at hotel.

Day 04 Muthuvankudi-Munnar (Cycling: 28 km)

Gear yourself up for an expedition of Munnar at a height of over 1600 m. It is bliss to ride your bicycle through high altitude forests, manicured tea gardens, and cardamom plantations on beautifully winding roads. This memorable ride would take you to a family owned resort inside the cardamom forest that is by itself a heavenly experience. Munnar is famous for its trekking routes, one of which you would be exploring this day. Or even better, you may continue with your cycling trip through the wonderfully spread tea gardens maintaining infectious tranquility through the quiet country roads.

After an eventful day at Munnar, come back to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05 Munnar-Suryanelli (Cycling: 23km)

Explore the beauty of the Grahams Land Tea Estate on your bicycle. The daunting mountain pass at the “Lockhart Gap” is a divine testimony to the perseverance of the early planters, which takes you to reach the Anaerangal Camp, Suryanelli. Here, you would be staying overnight in cottage tents.

Day 06 Suryanelli-Vandanmedu (Cycling: 75 km)

Have an early breakfast after which your morning biking experience begins. Start off with a circle around the mesmerizing Anaerangal Lake followed by a terrain through the tea estates, to ultimately reach Vandanmedu. Have a glimpse of the breathtaking cardamom estates after which these hills are named. It is bliss to inhale in the thick aroma of the spice gardens and a perfectly visual treat is gifted by the amazingly green forests that definitely stand out as the day’s highlight through the Cardamom Hills.

This day is certainly once a lifetime opportunity, after which you retire to a magnificent resort at Vandanmedu nestled right in the middle of the cardamom and tea estates.

Day 07 Periyar (Cycling: 70 km; optional transfer: 23 km)

The next two days are when you are going to be the closest to wildlife and nature. Continue biking around the spectacular Anaerangal Lake and pass through the well-maintained tea estates to reach the destination of the day – the world famous Periyar Tiger Reserve. Upon arrival, either head off into the forest or relax at the resort – the choice is yours.

The next day is solely dedicated to wildlife safaris and exploring the tribal village and spice plantations at Periyar.

Day 08 Periyar to Kulamavu (Cycling: 80 km)

Call it the best day of the trip, and the most challenging day as well with undulations throughout. The views around are magnificent, especially while crossing the spice plantations on either side. The famous arch dam of Idukkilies on the way and it is a sight to behold. As you reach your destination, Greenberg Resort, you have to cross the beautiful Kulamavu dam. The biggest challenge is at the end when you have to trek a tough climb, which is definitely a trek of a lifetime.

Day 09 Kulamavu-Kumarakom (Cycling: 83 km; optional transfer)

The destination for today is the famed backwater town of Kumarakom. The biking ride takes you through plains passes through stretches of rubber plantations, farmlands, fruit yards and market places to name a few of the beautiful sights that you behold on the way.

Reach Kumarakom and retire to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10 Kumarakom Alleppey Houseboat

Your biking ride pauses for the day at the famed backwater town of Kumarakom. The ride through the plains is a beautiful sight that takes you down through the rubber plantations, farmlands, fruit yards and market places before reaching your destination.

This afternoon you will be offered the highlight of the trip – a cruise on the world-famous rice boats. Not only is it a luxurious way to experience backwaters, it is also a great way to watch the villages and their living from the closest possible as you float in the houseboats.

Stay overnight in the houseboat.

Day 11 Alleppey (Cycling: 25 km, sea level)

Want to experience the famous Ayurvedic massage of Kerala? Well, this is your day. Start off through the narrow roads to reach a backwater villa on the backwaters in the city of Alleppey. This is one of the most spectacular and suggested place to experience the massage of Kerala. Relax in the evening before staying overnight in the villa.

Day 12 Marari (Cycling: 30 km, sea level)

Have your breakfast and get ready with your bicycle for the next destination of your trip. The route taken is a beautiful terrain amidst country roads and hamlets where sights like coconut husk being processed and coir ropes being made are among the most common things to notice. Hit the beach road to get a hold of your destination route off to Marari. Spend your afternoon on the beach.

Day 13 Depart

Your cycling trip in Kerala comes to an end. You will be transferred to the Kochi International Airport on time to connect to your return or onwards flight.
