Day 01 Arrive at Kolkata.

Today, upon your arrival at Kolkata you will be transferred to your new hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02 Kolkata to Bodhgaya.

Today, you will head out for a wondrous tour across Kolkata. The first stop will be at the Jain Temple. It is also known as the “Parshwanth Temple”. It was built by Rai Badridas Bahadoor Mookim in 1867. Then, you will head out for the Zoological Gardens. It is a 99 acres lad that has world’s best wild cattle. It also houses several migratory birds, native birds, and prey birds. Then, you will be taken to the Victoria Memorial. This monument is dedicated to Queen Victoria. It is made up of marble and is constructed in the year 1906.

Then, you will be driven past Howrah Bridge. This bridge is built over the mighty Hooghly River. It is a famous symbol of Kolkata. Then, you will also drive past Dalhousie Square. It is also known as the “Benoy Badal Dinesh Bagh”. It is an oasis from where you can see several Victorian styled monuments. Then, you will come across the Fort Williams. It was built by the British East India Company and is located on banks of the Hooghly River. Then, you will go across the Secretariat Building and Old Court House Street as well.

Day 03 Arrive at Gaya and drive to Bodhgaya.

Upon your arrival at Gaya, you will be driven to Bodhgaya. Check into your new hotel and head out for an exciting tour. The first stop here will be the Mahabodhi Temple. This temple was the first temple to be constructed with brick. It is also east India’s oldest structures. Then, you will be taken to Sujata Village. This was the place where Prince Siddhartha was offered rice milk when he was meditating. There are several other landmarks at the city which include the Great Buddha Statue, Wat Thai, Royal Bhutan Monastery, Dungeshwari Cave, and much more. Post journey, overnight at the hotel.

Day 04 Bodhgaya to Rajgir to Balanda to Patna.

This day you will arrive at Patna from where you will visit Rajgir and Nalanda. Rajgir was once the capital of Magadh Empire. It features several pilgrimages for Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Then, you will also come across the Pawapuri. It is also the holiest site that is also known as “Apapapuri”. It is the place where founder of Jainism, Mahavira attained enlightenment. Then, you will also get to witness the Nalanda University. It is the first establish Buddhist learning centre. It was founded during the Gupta Dynasty. The place also contains some ancient ruins which are preserved within the university. Then, you will be driven to Patna where you will check into your new hotel and relax.

Day 05 Patna to Vaishali to Varanasi.

Today, you will be driven Vaishali. It is also called as “Vesali”. It is a famed archaeological site. Then, you will visit the Ananda Stupa. This stupa is built in honour of the beloved disciple of Lord Buddha, Ananda. Then, you will also visit the Ashokan Pillar. This pillar has four lions that represent courage and pride. It also features other animals which are horse, bull, elephant, and lion. The pillar also has sacred inscriptions. Then, you will be driven to Varanasi where you will check in at your new hotel. Overnight at Varanasi.

Day 06 Varanasi

Today, you will be taken for an amazing tour across the city of Varanasi in a boat. This boat ride is across the river Ganga. Several devotees bath at these ghats before starting the worship. The Mani karnika and Harish Chandra ghat are places where several cremations take place. Then, you will be taken to visit Sarnath. This is one of the holiest city of Buddhism. It is the place where Buddha taught Dharma. It is also widely known as the place of learning too. Here, you will visit a stupa, museum, and other ruins. Some renowned landmarks include the Dhamek Stupa, Chau khanti Stupa, Sarnath Museum, Mulagandha Kuti Bihara, and much more. Post journey, overnight at Varansi.

Day 07 Varanasi to Kushinagar.

Today, you will be taken to Kushinagar where you will check into your new hotel and freshen up. Then, you will head out for another lovely tour. Kushinagar is a pilgrimage town. Previously is was known as the “Kasia Bazaar”. It is the place where Buddha attained Parinirvana or salvation.

You can explore the place on your own. Some famous landmarks you can visit include the Buddhist Museum is also Buddhist Museum where you will get an insight over the life and events revolving around Gautama Buddha and also over the religion of Buddhism. There is also a Golden Temple and much more.

Day 08 Kushinagar to Lumbini.

Today, you will visit Kushinagar. The first stop here will be the Mahaparinirvana Stupa. This is Buddhist temple and is also known to be the death place of Gautama Buddha. There are numerous ruins surrounding this stupa as well. There is also an old image of Buddha nearby the place too. Then, you will be driven to Lumbini where you will check into your new hotel. It is the birthplace of Buddha. After the death of Buddha, the city became a Buddhist holy place.

Day 09 Lumbini to Kapilvastu.

This morning you will head out for an amazing tour across Lumbini. There is a Mayadevi temple here. It is an ancient Buddhist temple that is under the World Heritage Site. It has a sacred pool or Pushkarni. The Ashokan Pillar is an important pillar that remarks Buddhism. It is well-sculpted and is the official emblem of India. Then, you will be taken to Kapilvastu. It was the capital of Shakya. It is the place where Lord Buddha spent 25 years of his life.

Day 10 Lumbini to Sravasti.

Today, you will be driven to Sravasti where you will check into your new hotel. Sravasti was once the capital of the Kosala kingdom. It is an important Buddhist location. It is situated on banks of the Rapti River. It is one of the six major cities that played important role in life of Buddha. It is a place with several monasteries, temples, and stupas.

Day 11 Sravasti to Lucknow to Delhi.

Today, you will be transferred to the Lucknow railway station where you will board your train for New Delhi. Upon you arrival at New Delhi you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12 Departure

Today, you will be taken for an amazing tour across Delhi. The first location will be the Raj Ghat. It was once a walled city that was situated on banks of river Yamuna. However, after Mahatma Gandhi’s death, it became renowned as his cremation site. Then, you will be visiting the Jama Masjid. It took 22 years to build the monument. The monument was attached twice and it also experienced an explosion too. It has a Jain and Hindu architecture to it. Then, you will drive past the Red Fort. It is also called the “Blessed Fort” as it remarks the decision of Shah Jahan to shift his capital from Agra to Delhi. The fort now features numerous palaces, museums, and ruins too. It also part of the World Heritage. Then, you will also be driven across ChandaniChowk. It is one of the crowded and bustling markets of Delhi. It is mainly famed for selling textile and traditional wears.

In the afternoon you will be taken to the Qutb Minar. It is the highest tower in India and is the first Muslim tower too. This minaret was the inspiration or all other towers, stupas, and minarets across India. It has been destroyed by lighting two time and it also features a lovely festival too. Then, you will visit the Humayun’s Tomb. It is a fusion of Persian and Indian architecture. It is a perfect square tomb where grave of Humayun is situated. It is also not double-domed unlike other tombs. Then, you will visit the India Gate. This monument has architecture similar to the Arc De Triomphe in Paris. It is built of marble and pale sandstones. It once also had the statue of Great George V, but later it was removed. Then, you will be taken to the Lakshminarayan Temple. It is a modern temple that is built by B.D. Birla. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.

You will also be driven past President’s House. It is located in New Delhi and is the official residence of President of India. It is the second largest presidential palace in the world. It took 17 years to complete. Then, you will also be driven past Government Secretariat buildings and Connaught place too.

Post journey, in the evening you will be taken to the Delhi airport to board your flight for onward journey.
