India is a land of spirituality. There are numerous temples where you can see the actual meaning of faith and belief. In this blog, I will give you some information regarding Panch Kedar Trek. It is believed that the Panch Kedar, a trek that is in the lap of the Himalayas is a trek that comprises the body of Lord Shiva. This body came into view at five places in the town named Kedarnath. It is believed that the Pandavas built five temples at these places. A spherical trek is followed to visit these five temples. The name of these temples are as follows: · Kedarnath · Tungnath · Rudranath · Madhyamaheswar · Kalpeswara


1. Kedarnath:

Kedarnath temple is the most famous temple in India. This temple is situated in the district named Rudraprayag of Uttarakhand. Above sea level, this place of worship is located at an altitude of 3584 meters. This place or Dham (holy place) is near the Mandakini River.
 
This temple is closed for 6 months in winter. During this time, all the worship rituals of Lord Shiva are done at Ukhimath. Ukhimath is just a little away south of Guptakashi.


2. Madhyamaheswar:

There is a trek of 24 Km to Madhyamaheswar from Mansuna village. If you want, you can have a stop and spend an overnight at Ransi and then proceed to Gondar which is 3 km away, and climb 10 km to Madhyamaheswar.
 
This temple is devoted to the mesial part of the bull form of lord Shiva.


3. Tungnath:

Tungnath temple is a famous temple after Kedarnath temple among Panch Kedar. Tungnath temple’s height is about 12065 ft or 3680 meters. This temple is the highest in India if we talk about the altitude.
 
Kedarnath, Neelkanth, and Nanda Devi are some beautiful mountains near Tungnath. Near this temple, there is a small temple of the goddess Parvati. This temple is situated on the Chandranath Parvat (mountain) and It is said that this temple is around 1000 years old.


4.Rudranath:

Rudranath temple, the fourth temple in this sacred Yatra(journey), is dedicated to the head of Shiva. You can walk from Kalpeshwara to reach Rudranath. This temple is tranquil and is located in the Garhwal Himalayas.
 
There are beautiful views of Nandadevi, Parbat peaks, and Trishul. The small lakes flowing down below make this view more beautiful.


5. Kalpeshwar:

Kalpeshwar temple is the fifth and the last temple of this Panch Kedar Yatra. The gates of this temple are open 12 months of the year. Rudranath temple is devoted to the matted hair of Lord Shiva.
 
The track to this sacred shrine is full of lush green meadows and thick forests. Here, there is a tree called Kalpavriksha. According to Hindu mythology, this tree is a wish granted tree.
