Saffron is known as the golden spice which is used in Indian kitchens to enhance the beauty and flavor of their dishes. Also, there are so many benefits in this tiny spice. The Hindi name of saffron is Kesar and is from the crocus sativus plant.

This crocus sativus flower consists of thread-like structures which are known as stigmas. These stigmas are collected and dried which results in the saffron spice.
